Central Highlands rainy season and the stadium challenge: pitches, drainage and outdoor LED boards

HAGL have to borrow Quy Nhon Stadium for their match against SHB Da Nang because weeks of rain left the Pleiku pitch below standard. The rainy season places special demands on both the turf and the perimeter LED system.

On Saturday 10 October HAGL host SHB Da Nang in round 3 of the V.League, but not in Pleiku. Weeks of heavy rain left the pitch below standard, so the club borrowed Quy Nhon Stadium with the organisers' approval.

Drainage comes first

A rain-ready pitch needs more than good grass. It needs sub-surface drainage strong enough to make the field playable a few hours after a downpour. Without it, even careful turf care only helps so much.

LED boards face the same weather

Perimeter LED boards live outdoors all year. Driving rain, high humidity and harsh sun take their toll, and long rainy seasons raise the risk of short circuits, failed modules and colour fade. Cabinets must be waterproof front and back, control and power units sealed and covered with surge protection, cables raised and run in conduit, and every cabinet colour-tested before each match.

When a match moves

A venue change means rebuilding the sponsor schedule, brand order and camera positions for a new ground within days. With more than 26 years of LED operations at 4 stadiums and with 6 clubs, Hoan Vu starts preparing for a match long before the rain arrives.
