Ha Anh Tuan on 17 Dec at Phu Tho Circus: date and venue

On 28 and 29 October, the Viet Vision team and singer Ha Anh Tuan announced Circus of Friends, planned for 17 December 2026 at the Phu Tho Circus and Multipurpose Performance Hall in Ho Chi Minh City. According to the reports, the main hall seats about 2,000 people. That is a small number next to the stadium shows of this year end, and it is exactly what moves the technical work in another direction.

The team calls the format a Friends Meeting rather than a fan meeting. 2026 also marks 20 years of Ha Anh Tuan on stage. Earlier shows by this team were staged in Ninh Binh in 2023, at Esplanade Singapore and the Sydney Opera House in 2024, and at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles in 2025.

A production view: staging, audio, lighting, LED screens and crowd operations

What follows is general trade experience from a staging company, not information about the show above.

A hall of about 2,000 seats is its own category, not a scaled down stadium. The distance from the front row to the back row is short, so every error shows. A rough weld, a truss out of line, a stray beam landing on the faces in row three are all visible.

Audio changes most. Outdoors, sound leaves and fades. Indoors it comes back off the walls, the roof and the floor. The crew measures the reverberation time of the hall before choosing speakers, then flies shorter line arrays, splits coverage into smaller zones and adds delay speakers for the back rows when needed. The goal is an even level from the first row to the last, not more volume.

For LED screens, close viewing distance raises the resolution needed. Stadiums use a coarse pixel pitch because people sit tens of metres away. Halls of a few hundred to a few thousand seats usually need a much finer pitch, and brightness has to come down, otherwise the screen outshines the stage lights. When there is recording or a livestream, screen colour also has to match the cameras, which calls for a separate colour alignment session.

For lighting, an indoor show uses fewer fixtures but the angles are harder. Ceilings are low and the audience can see the rig, so hanging positions have to be clean and cabling tidy. Every hanging point needs a load plan, and the venue structure has to be checked before any equipment goes up.

For operations, fixed seating makes ticket checking easier than a standing floor, but aisles are tight. Row spacing, emergency exits, the position of technical equipment and the clearing time after the show all belong in the written plan. Power is the same: main supply, backup supply and a separate feed for audio away from the lighting feed.

Notes for the audience

At the time of writing, the reports do not give ticket prices, an on-sale date, sales channels, door times or a seating chart. The date itself is described as planned. Audiences should follow the producer's official channels for updates, and think ahead about travel, since 17 December 2026 falls on a Thursday.
